Karma Candy Inc to participate in WSIB's 'Safety Groups' Program

WSIB Safety Groups Program HAMILTON, Ontario, February 19, 2008 - Karma Candy Inc announced today that it is participating in a province-wide WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario) accident prevention program called Safety Groups. The purpose of this innovative safety program is to reduce the number of work-related accidents/illnesses and to curb accident costs.

Karma Candy Inc is proud to be part of this proactive safety program, which it considers to be a wise investment in the health, safety and well being of all its employees and contractors, their families, now and for generations to come.

"We are committed to improving health and safety at our production facility, and this is yet another proactive step in that direction" said Greg Merlihan, the General Manager of company. Karma Candy Inc puts a tremendous focus on safe working behaviours, incident investigation and remedial action, communication programs and training to reduce injuries in the workplace. The Emerald facility has had no lost time injuries in over 18 months.
