HAMILTON - Earth Day is a United Nations designated day that takes place during the March equinox or first day of spring. It represents the world's most popular environmental awareness initiative as it involves over 500 million people and is celebrated globally. Earth Day is officially April 22. Earth Week covers the two-week period surrounding April 22nd. The Employees of Karma Candy Inc. supported Earth Day 2008 on April 22 through a cleanup of a public throughway and overpass in the City of Hamilton. Accumulated garbage was picked up and separated, diverting as much as possible through the Karma Candy Inc. recycling program. Over twenty-five large bags were accumulated and diverted, leaving the area safe for pedestrians and wild-life. Karma Candy Inc. is proud to support this important initiative and to make an impact in improving our shared environment. |
